Surveys for pre-purchase condition, insurance and warranty purposes, in GRP, FRP, steel, aluminium, traditional wood construction, wood-epoxy or plywood.

I am also available for Naval Architectural design consultancy, and owner representation.

I was formerly a Surveyor to Lloyd's Register of Shipping, specialising in Plan Appraisal and MCA Code Compliance Surveys for small craft, particularly FRP vessels.

I have been working in the marine industry for 25 years, initially qualifying in wooden boat-building and yacht repair and fitting-out, before re-qualifying and progessing into Naval Architecture, Survey and design work. I was more recently employed as a consultant Naval Architect for a major UK power-boat manufacturer, where I made contrubutions in structural design and scantling determination, as well as in-build supervision.

I am available for commisions in all locations in the UK as far north and including Preston, and regularly travel to Europe on survey, typically to Spain, Italy and Greece. My more local areas of operation are the east and south coasts of England, which I commute between regularly.

I am an RYA/Dti Yachtmaster for 16 years now, and own my own wooden sailing boat which is based on the East coast.

I carry full Professional Indemnity Insurance cover for my survey work.
